Jerry C. Butler Jr. is a Pupil in the firm and assigned to the Dispute Resolution practice group. Qualified to handle cross-border legal matters, he is a barrister called to the Bars of both England and Wales and The Bahamas. He has also passed the New York Bar Examination and is awaiting formal admission.
Jerry earned his LLB (Hons) from Durham University in 2024, followed by an LLM in International Commercial Trade and Dispute Resolution from City, University of London in 2025. His academic foundation is heavily shaped by a global upbringing. In 2019, after graduating from St. Andrews high school in The Bahamas, Jerry was awarded the prestigious United World College (UWC) Scholarship to study in China. He has also studied in Costa Rica and England. This international background has informed his unique perspective on cross-border disputes and is complemented by his research via two dissertations analysing anti-money laundering frameworks within trusts and shell companies across the UK, the Caribbean, and the British Virgin Islands.
Outside of his legal practice, Jerry is a linguist who enjoys learning new languages. He is also a former competitive athlete, having represented The Bahamas internationally on two occasions in track and field at the Caribbean Union of Teachers (CUT) Games. Demonstrating leadership and character early on, Jerry was named Gentleman of the Year for The Bahamas in 2019.
