Consultant G. Diane Stewart is a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas with a distinguished career spanning education, private legal practice, judicial service, and public leadership. She began her professional career with the Ministry of Education and Culture, serving as a teacher at R.M. Bailey Senior High School from 1976 to 1981. In 1985, she joined McKinney, Bancroft & Hughes, where she built a highly regarded practice in commercial and civil litigation, banking, insolvency, insurance, and family law. She became a partner of the firm in 1992 and served in that capacity until 2018, including some time as a member of the firm’s Executive (Managing) Committee. In October 2018, she was appointed Justice of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, a position she held until April 2023. Following her retirement from the Bench, Justice Stewart returned to McKinney, Bancroft & Hughes in June 2023, where she currently serves as a Consultant, continuing her long-standing contribution to the legal profession.
