Ava La-Roda is an Associate at Mckinney, Bancroft & Hughes with a keen interest in Commercial litigation in the real property, and dispute resolution practice areas.
Upon graduating with her Associates of Law and Criminal Justice, Ava enrolled in the University of The Bahamas where she pursued a Bachelor of Laws which she successfully completed with distinction. She then enrolled in the Eugene Dupuch Law School where she completed her professional training and was called to The Bahamas Bar in 2023.
Throughout her academic career, Ava has always set herself apart from her colleagues through her unwavering hard work, not only in academics, but also by participating in extracurricular activities which include the following:
- Second-year representative at the Eugene Dupuch Law School
- Member of the Commercial and Financial Services Law Clinic
- Participant in the Commercial and Financial Services and STEP Bahamas Moot where she received commendation for her advocacy skills
- Member of the writing and editorial teams at Eugene Dupuch Law School
- Recipient of the HLB Bahamas Prize for best performing student in Law, Office Management, Accounting and Technology
- Active participant in the launch of the International and Western Hemisphere Arbitration, Adjudication, and Mediation Centre in The Bahamas
Ava’s experience as a certified LexisNexis researcher has also made her a critical legal researcher. She is an adaptable attorney who enjoys working to solve difficult legal problems and is always willing to work diligently to contribute to the Firm’s success. Her goal as an attorney is to represent her clients to the best of her ability and with the utmost integrity.
Apart from the law, Ava is a member of the Rotary Club of Nassau, because her mantra has always been service above self. She enjoys travelling, cooking, and spending quality time with family.
