Jerry C. Butler Jr. is an Associate in the Firm’s Dispute Resolution practice group. He is a barrister called to the Bar of England and Wales and The Bahamas Bar. He has also successfully passed the New York Bar Examination and is currently awaiting admission.
In 2024, Jerry completed his LLB (Hons) at Durham University in the United Kingdom. He subsequently earned a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International Commercial Trade and Dispute Resolution from City, University of London in 2025.
Having attended high school in China and studied in Costa Rica and England, Jerry brings a broad international perspective to matters involving law, commerce, and cross-border dispute resolution. He completed two dissertations examining how money is laundered through trusts and shell companies in the British Virgin Islands, the Caribbean, and England and Wales.
In 2019, Jerry was awarded the prestigious United World College Scholarship to study in China. He also represented The Bahamas internationally on two occasions in track and field at the Caribbean Union of Teachers (CUT) Games. Outside of his legal practice, Jerry enjoys learning languages. He was also named Gentleman of the Year for The Bahamas in 2019.
