Launched in 1998 and published quarterly since then, overcoming interruption by recent hurricanes and inescapable competition for priority with day to day clients’ business, MB&H Perspectives (known in-house as “the Newsletter”) now resumes its quarterly publication after a brief pause. The objective of the Newsletter remains
what it originally was – to provide an outlet for talking legal shop among ourselves and our brethren and, importantly, communicating matters of likely mutual interest to clients.
Notable legal events like the promotion of important bills, the handing down of significant decisions of the courts, certain movements in the law in kindred overseas jurisdictions, and commentary on things legal in general – all will find a place for mention in the Newsletter.
You can download the current version of our newsletter in PDF format. To open and view this newsletter, you to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.
The Court System is also modeled after that of The United Kingdom. Magistrates' Courts hear minor criminal and civil cases, and the Supreme Court hears the more serious criminal and major civil cases. Appeals are heard by the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council in England, the highest Court of Appeal for The Bahamas.
