Miss Gonsalves-Sabola works in collaboration with the Senior Partner of the firm and head of the litigation department, Mr. Brian Moree.
Miss Gonsalves-Sabola received a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of
Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom in 1993. In 1994 she was admitted to the Bar of
England and Wales as a member of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. She
subsequently received a Master of Laws Degree in Business Law from the University of
Wales, Aberystwyth in the United Kingdom in 1996. Upon completion of the prescribed
course of training at the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica, Miss Gonsalves-Sabola
was enrolled as a Registered Associate in the Bahamas and as an Attorney-at-Law of the
Supreme Court of Judicature of Jamaica in 1996. She was later admitted to practice as a
Barrister-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Judicature (High Court of Justice) in Antigua
and Barbuda in 1998.
Miss Gonsalves-Sabola joined the firm in 1996 and was
admitted to partnership in the firm on 1st January, 2007.
Miss Gonsalves-Sabola has worked on matters in which the firm has:
- Acted as General Counsel to liquidators in substantial bank liquidations involving
multi-national entities, cross-border issues and conflict of laws issues.
- Successfully opposed winding up petitions on behalf of shareholders.
- Represented litigants in general commercial litigation involving various
commercial disputes.
- Negotiated the settlement of litigation and other disputes arising out of various
commercial transactions.
- Advised clients on transactional matters.
Miss Gonsalves-Sabola is the co-author of a chapter on The Bahamas in the European Lawyer Reference
