Michelle I. Deveaux is a registered associate of the firm who specializes in civil, commercial and trust litigation. Her ability to handle complex litigation, strong research capabilities, and proactive approach to every case makes her a valuable asset to the firm.

Michelle’s academic background and multi-jurisdictional experience is extensive. She completed her Bachelor of Laws, LLB at the University of Guyana in 1999, and obtained her Legal Education Certificate, LEC at Sir Hugh Wooding Law School in 2001. She also obtained her Master of Laws Corporate and Commercial Law, LL.M from the University of the West Indies in 2006. Michelle was called to the Bar in Guyana, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands  and The Bahamas in 2001, 2004, 2005, and 2023 respectively.

Michelle believes in the merits of hard work and derives satisfaction from contributing to a creative and analytical practice of the law. She is a deeply analytical lawyer and possesses an attention to detail which contributes to her success as a civil litigation attorney. One of her strengths is her ability to break down complex legal concepts into layman’s terms and ensure that her clients are kept fully informed during every step of each case.

Although she is dedicated to her career, Michelle believes in a healthy work-life balance. She often spends time contributing to the lives of young people and is passionate about helping them mold their future. Michelle is also an accomplished dancer who is trained in classical ballet and other forms of dance.
