Richard Lightbourn

Richard H. R. Lightbourn was a partner of the firm for over 30 years, and continues to be a valued consultant to this day. In 2012, he was elected to the House of Parliament.

Richard attended the London School of Economics and Political Science in the UK, where he earned his Bachelor of Laws degree. He was called to the English Bar in 1968, to The Bahamas Bar in 1969, and is currently a member of The Bahamas Bar Association, as well as Grey’s Inn Society.

Richard’s legal expertise and scope as a consultant includes real estate litigation, corporate litigation, civil litigation, and legal matters involving banking and finance. He is one of the firm’s leading experts in quieting title matches and conveyancing transactions, and has a track record for successfully obtaining Certificates of Title in quieting actions on behalf of several major subdivisions throughout The Bahamas.

When Richard is not boating or fishing, you can find him in the kitchen. Richard loves to cook and is a self-proclaimed chef extraordinaire. He also has a green thumb and frequently spends time in his garden, tending to his fruits and vegetables.
